Elder, Henry KhooI was born and raised in Hong Kong in a loving Christian family. I came to know Christ as my savior when I was in high school. I was very blessed to have had great advisors/counselors in my youth fellowship that gave me a firm foundation of the Christian faith. I came to the United States in 1968 to attend Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and later received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography and film. Being a “tentmaker” was my goal in serving Christ after graduation. Other than having my own photography studio, I also produced pre-evangelical TV programs through a non-denomination organization in Los Angeles. I joined LCBC in 1995 when we relocated to Sacramento. Since then I participated in numerous mission trips to China and Taiwan for 15 years. Though I am not proficient in Mandarin, Pastor Jon asked me to help in the Mandarin ministry. It is a joy to serve and be part of a growing congregation. It is my privilege to share God’s Word. My wife, Alice and I were married in 1973 in South Pasadena. We have two sons and two granddaughters, Clementine and Wynnifred. In our retirement, we enjoy traveling around the world to marvel at God’s handiwork. |
