Calling all students from incoming 7th graders to graduating seniors! Our yearly Radiate Summer Camp is going to be at LCBC this year! The theme for this year's camp is "Renewed Life: How Jesus Changes You Inside and Out."

Join us for a fun all-day camp experience at our church property filled with messages from our guest speaker Riley Seid, fun activities, and more! We hope to return to Camp Alta next year as things get back to normal. Cost is $50 per camper.

When is this?

Monday-Wednesday, July 26-28. Our original schedule for Camp Alta was to arrive on Sunday, July 25 in the late afternoon, and then leave Wednesday, July 28 around lunchtime. Since we will be at church, we will just shift our schedule to be 3 full-days of day-camp at LCBC running from Monday morning to Wednesday late afternoon.

What time will camp be each day?

We are finalizing the schedule, but for now our plan is to start in the morning at 9:30am and then finish by 5:00pm right before before dinner.

What will the day-camp experience be like?

Our hope is that we can replicate the Camp Alta experience as much as possible (without the overnight stay of course). The plan is that we will have 3 action-packed days with our messages from our guest-speaker, small-group discussion times, large-group activities, and smaller-informal game/hangout times. We will utilize as much space throughout the MPR and ETC buildings on our property, so that way we can have social-distancing while wearing masks and not need to be out in the heat (though we may have some activities/games outside, but not for long periods of time).

What about meals?

We will be providing lunch for all campers. We will be taking health safety precautions for our lunches. Lunches will be catered, which means they will be cooked/prepared off-site, and then they will be pre-packaged ahead of time, or we will separate out into individuals portions while wearing gloves and masks.

How much is the registration cost?

$50 per camper. Your registration will go towards covering the costs for your t-shirt, lunch, and snacks. Please write all checks to Laguna Chinese Baptist Church.

What about COVID-19 guidelines?

As of June 15, the state of California has eased the guildelines for wearing masks and social-distancing. However, we realize that not everyone is comfortable with this change yet. Plus, we realize that not everyone is comfortable with getting the COVID-19 vaccine. For those reasons, we will require all students who attend camp to masks at all times while inside the MPR and ETC buildings. While outside, masks will be optional. These guidelines are subject to change based on CDC recommendations.

Do I need a vaccine to attend?

No. As a church, we do encourage everyone to consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine. However, we do realize that some people have decided not to take the vaccine for various reasons. Some people may have pre-existing medical conditions that make it risky to take the vaccine, while others may not feel comfortable with the vaccine due to a matter of conscience or moral reasons. For those reasons, we will not be requiring attendees to be vaccinated to attend summer camp, or any other Radiate meetings for that matter.
